The Talent Show

The week beginning 11th June was music week at Christow Primary School.  There was a talent show on Wednesday the 13th of June.  Many children took part.  They told jokes, danced, played instruments and did football skills.  I thought my friends were the best, they played the guitar and the drums.  At the end of the talent show there was a huge vote by all members of the school.  A band called Nation’s Army won and they received a chocolate bar each.  The dance groups  moves were good.

We all enjoyed it.

Christow School

The school is a place to be

Well that’s what it feels like to me.

At play time there is fun everywhere

Over here and over there.

Well that’s what it feels like to me.

In lunch it’s the time to be

Where you sit and enjoy your lunch and chat quietly

Well that’s what it feels like to me.

At the end of the day

We had lots of the fun

Well that’s what it feels like to me.

The dog in the toy shop

I hear bells ringing I dont know why,

After all, I’m just a stuffed dog in a toy shop.

Children come in now and then.

They walk past me, they dont stop.

But one day a miracle arrived.

Everything was covered with something white.

A man and a woman walked inside and stopped in front of me.

They picked me up stroked my fur.

They said, “It’s perfect for her!”

They took me to the till and paid five bucks.

Just for me, a dog in a toy shop!

They carry me Home, left foot then right

As I look around at beautiful sites.

Of course I’ve never seen them before.

I was just a dog in a toy shop.

They take me home and wrap me up,

A girl walks in and picks me up,

Gives her Mum and Dad a hug .

She unwrapped me and hugged me tight.

That was my first happy night.

Hello?

He didn’t like it when he was told to sleep in the cellar.  Most of all he didn’t like the old fashioned boiler.  He thought it was going to eat him.  He locked the door behind him.  He opened all the boxes, looked round the corner to see if anything was there.  He tried to stay away from the boiler but it always seemed to creep up on him.  Finally he turned off the light and got into his sleeping bag.

Then a little voice said,”That’s good.  Now we’re safely locked in for the night.”……

Birthday Poem

My eyes spring open

The thought of the presents down stairs.

The smell of freshly cooked birthday cake

I’m too excited to stay in bed so I rush down stairs.

Open my presents

Then comes the cake

Blow out the candle and make a wish.

But in a flash

 it’s all over.

Now to wait for next year.

MONKEYS poem

Monkeys swing from tree to tree,

Or maybe sit by a bumble bee,

Nothing to do but to sit and relax,

Keen and waiting patiently for something to happen,

Excitement spreads as quick as sound,

You may seem pleased you may seem sad, but

Something new has happened.
